“An honorable addition to the architectural cannon….which transcends the sum of its parts…it’s been more successful than I’d thought possible. It makes its owners feel like more civilized, happier, human beings. Thats what a great building does.”
“The glass walkways are hugely successful – they work like a bridge and look wonderful from inside and out.”
– Kevin McCloud
Publications and Awards
In 2015, we were delighted to win a category at the inaugural New Forest National Park Building Design Awards, for our extension to Poulner Baptist Chapel. The work provided an expanded auditorium and new community facilities to this popular family church.
Greensleeves is a large residence near Ringwood with spectacular views across the River Avon, which we designed for a private client. Our contemporary proposal was planned to accentuate the benefits of this rare and special site. We were very pleased for the property to be recognised as a regional finalist at the LABC Building Excellence Awards in 2016.
In our recent work at Moorlands Theological College, we were employed to provide the staff and students with an improved community hub and cafeteria. Our endeavours were recognised at the 2016 LABC Building Excellence Awards, where the building was a regional finalist.
We were also commissioned to design a new auditorium at Moorlands College. Our scheme sought to maximise light, spatial quality and material craftsmanship. These efforts were recognised at the 2016 LABC Building Excellence Awards, where the building was a regional finalist.
In 2004 Christchurch borough council ran a competition to design a replacement cafeteria for a site atop Highcliffe cliff top. The previous cafe had burnt down! Although we won the competition, the scheme was subsequently dismissed by the Council in favour of the building which now exists.
In 2014 we were approached by Building magazine who were assembling a number of CPD certified articles. They had been informed by Nemetschek (company behind CAD software such as Vectorworks, which we use) that we were pioneering the use of BIM (building information modelling). As such we helped them to assemble an article on the benefits of a BIM workflow for small practices.
Highlands, our new build replacement dwelling in Hampshire, was featured in the Sept 2005 edition of Homebuilding & Renovating magazine. Click through the image above to read an PDF extract.
Hillside farm, our new build house in the New Forest, has garnered much interest following its appearance on Grand Designs. It was also featured in the April 2005 issue of Homebuilding & Renovating.
Hillside farm was also featured in the European Wood Magazine, with an article about the colourful wood coatings and paints used.
Following its appearance on Channel 4’s Grand Designs, Hillside Farm was also featured in the subsiduary Grand Designs magazine.
