The Advertiser and Times is one of the last independently owned newspapers in the UK, and serves a readership of over 45000 people in the New Forest area. Still owned by the Curry family, the New Milton Advertiser and Lymington Times have been a highly-trusted source of local news since 1928.
In recent years, the newspaper has been seeking to improve its facilities and expand its workspace. It gained planning permission (with another designer) to demolish an existing bungalow and construct a replacement office building. DUA Architecture were asked to undertake detailed constructional design, secure building regulations approval, and oversee construction of the building.
Newspaper staff and reporters will share the new facility with ‘IncuHive’, who are collaborating with Advertiser and Times to open a brand new business incubation hub. This will offer state of the art facilities for entrepreneurs, including a manufacturing lab, office space with fast 1Gb internet, a 3D printer and a photography studio.
