Greensleeves

Avon Castle, Dorset

Greensleeves is a modern cliffside house by the river Avon, which replaced a derelict dwelling on an overgrown plot.

Its design consists of three elements, each with two storeys, distinguished by different heights and materials. White render, terracotta and timber.

The house uses energy-saving materials and equipment, but its design prioritizes the view over the river and New Forest. It follows the tradition of teasing visitors before revealing the stunning view through its spatial composition.
