This replacement dwelling in the New Forest National Park was designed by DUA Architecture to fully embrace its woodland setting. The home maximizes its connection to the natural environment while providing modern, functional family living.
A thick storage wall wraps around the lounge and dining areas, providing thermal mass for energy efficiency, and acoustic separation for the bedroom suites. Large expanses of glazing, protected by an extensive roof overhang, flood the interiors with natural light, while a half-storey elevated bedroom suite with a balcony allows uninterrupted views of the surrounding woodland.
This project exemplifies sensitive contemporary design in the New Forest, combining architectural elegance with careful attention to site context, sustainability, and interior comfort.
