Entegra House
Lymington, New Forest
This contemporary new home in Lymington, on the edge of the New Forest National Park, represents a thoughtful response to both site and client. The project replaces an existing dwelling with a distinctive modern house that reflects past experience, and a refined architectural vision.
Our client, having previously undertaken a self-build project, approached this new home with clear goals and a deeper understanding of the design and construction process. Together, we developed a scheme that balances contemporary design with practicality and comfort, rooted in a strong awareness of its Lymington and New Forest context.
At DUA Architecture, context is central to our design philosophy. For this project, we prioritised orientation, shelter, passive solar energy, and summer shading to create a home that is both sustainable and site-responsive.
The resulting design is distinctive, the layout is rotated 45 degrees to optimise sunlight and views, while a stepped floor plan generates a series of dynamic, light-filled interior spaces that connect seamlessly to the surrounding landscape.
This modern Lymington home demonstrates how intelligent design and local understanding can produce architecture that is both contemporary and deeply rooted in place.
