The Greenhouse Christian Centre

DUA Architecture was appointed to oversee the renovation and extension of The Greenhouse Christian Centre, a retreat centre in Poole, Dorset. The Greenhouse provides spiritual retreats, community gatherings, and faith-based conferences, and our design was focused on improving the building’s functionality, comfort, and atmosphere to support these activities.
Originally a large detached dwelling, the property had undergone numerous extensions over the years. Our role was to reimagine and unify the existing spaces, creating a coherent layout that enhances both the guest experience and operational efficiency. The design includes new conferencing and meeting facilities, refreshed accommodation areas, and welcoming communal spaces that encourage fellowship and reflection.
By carefully balancing practicality with sensitivity to the centre’s spiritual mission, our design was developed to help The Greenhouse expand its capacity and offer a more inclusive and uplifting environment for visitors.
