The Bothy

This tiny dwelling of 51m² lacked a dining space and downstairs toilet. Also, access was via an extremely narrow porch.

Adding a bay window with an extended roof provided the space for a good sized dining area and covered entrance. A ground floor toilet was provided with a simple lean-to extension.

Located in a conservation area, the design was the subject of much discussion between ourselves and the authority’s conservation officer.
