Saddlers Mews in Fawley, Hampshire is a carefully designed small architectural dwelling located on the edge of the New Forest National Park. The project showcases how innovative contemporary design can unlock the potential of challenging sites and overcome previous planning constraints.
The site had a history of refused applications for uninspired, conventional proposals. Our client approached us to create a new vision that would succeed both architecturally and at planning stage. Our response was a radically contemporary one-bedroom dwelling, modest in scale but rich in quality and character.
Planned with high-quality natural materials that reference the surrounding environment, the design achieves harmony with its context while offering a striking, modern identity. Saddlers Mews demonstrates how thoughtful, site-specific design can transform small or constrained plots into successful and distinctive contemporary homes, both near the New Forest, and beyond!
