
Peveril Road

Peveril Road is an innovative example of urban residential development in Southampton, which transforms a previously undevelopable gap site into two high-quality new homes. This tight urban infill project overcame challenging site constraints and planning barriers, where earlier proposals had been deemed unviable.
Our design solution cleverly utilized an existing communal footpath to separate two walled courtyard gardens, creating private outdoor spaces for each dwelling while maintaining the privacy of neighbouring terraces.
The result is a pair of compact, efficient dwellings that respect the surrounding urban fabric while introducing secure, characterful living environments. Access to each home is provided through individual courtyard gardens via a discreet gate in the wall, adding both security and a touch of playful design.
This project demonstrates that thoughtful small-site housing design can make a valuable contribution to urban regeneration and housing diversity.
