The Homestead
Boldre, Hampshire
This home extension in Boldre, Hampshire, demonstrates how thoughtful architectural design can completely transform an outdated property into a stunning, functional modern home.
Our clients purchased the original cottage as a speculative building venture. Over time, multiple poorly planned additions had left it disjointed and uncomfortable, with floors that no longer aligned. However, since these earlier extensions predated 1982, local planning policy allowed for a larger new extension, presenting the perfect opportunity for a complete redesign.
The result is a sympathetic yet contemporary extension that complements the existing cottage while significantly improving space, comfort, and energy efficiency. This project shows how creative design can bring new life to a dated building, turning it into a beautiful, cohesive family home in the New Forest.
