Brownsea Island
Ferries Kiosk

Sandbanks, Dorset

This new ferry kiosk on Sandbanks is a compact, resilient coastal building designed by DUA Architecture for Brownsea Island Ferries, the Poole Harbour operator carrying passengers since 1887. Located on a very small square plot in a busy Sandbanks harbourfront setting, the kiosk maximises a tiny footprint while delivering practical, long-lasting facilities for ferry passengers.

The two-storey kiosk houses a staffed ticket office at ground floor and secure storage at first floor, organised to support efficient daily operations. The simple, dynamic form is finished in robust copper cladding, selected for its durability and ability to weather attractively in the marine environment.

The result is a compact, elegant structure that meets operational needs and enhances the Sandbanks waterfront - visible to thousands of visitors each year. In this busy and popular coastal location, the structure will reinforce the iconic nature of the Brownsea Island Ferries brand.
