Jacobean Close
Our clients at Jacobean Close were fortunate to have a large, long site, which backed onto a side street. This provided them with the opportunity to undertake a plot severance, and construct a new additional dwelling. Site availability is often the primary difficulty in the realisation of smaller residential new build projects.
The design had to meet a number of challenges. Firstly, it had to complement the scale and massing of neighbouring dwellings. Secondly, it had to form a comfortable dwelling on a fairly tight site. Thirdly, it had to be efficient to construct, and finally it had to saleable.
The completed dwelling meets all of these challenges with a design that has a fairly traditional form, but with a contemporary twist that ensures its modernity and longevity. First floor ceilings are open to the roof providing spacious rooms with plentiful daylight. The ground floor kitchen and lounge open out to the rear garden with large format glazed doors. An integral garage provides covered access to the kitchen, and plentiful storage space.
