More Information
Our clients here requested the addition of a granny annex to their detached house. However, the dwelling is surrounded by trees having the protection of TPO’s (tree preservation orders). Therefore an arboriculturist was employed to produce a report and liaise with the local authority on a suitable ‘building site’. The area allocated was extremely small and slightly separated from the house.
Innisfree
Our solution was to create a single bed / sitting room angled at 45 degrees to the house and accessed via a small link containing a kitchenette and shower room. Fortuitously the new room faces a small lawn enveloped by the trees and shrubs, thus providing a private garden for granny accessed via a wall of glass.
